This paper deals with the Noctuidae species common in South Africa and Turkey. Totally 42 species are listed here in alphabetical order. Original references, synonyms are given. Range of the species are explained by the codes of the states, provinces, territories, and important collecting sites in the World. Distributions in Turkey are mentioned by the official province numbers. Occurences of the species in Turkey are remarked briefly. Separately, common species of Turkey and some North African countries are also mentioned and discussed.
